Armored Blox Frames & Weight Class Tiers
Flexible beta rankings for legs, cores, and chassis roles.
This Frames tier page ranks weight-class roles for Armored Blox rather than pretending every named part is permanently solved. The game is a BETA by 48devs, inspired by Armored Core–style assembly, so cores, legs, and frames will shift as expansions land. Use this with Weapons and Builds.
Ranking rules for frames
We score chassis roles on:
- Boost confidence under 2v2 pressure
- Forgiveness when you mistime a commit
- Ability to support a partner (peel angles, presence)
- Synergy with common weapon archetypes
- Patch risk — brand-new expansion parts may be unfinished
Tiers describe play patterns, not immutable IDs. When community Discord maps nicknames to AC6 equivalents, treat those as lore aids.
Tier snapshot (beta, flexible)
| Tier | Weight role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| S | Mid all-rounder frames | Best default for climbing and learning |
| A | Light skirmish frames | High ceiling, harsh punishment |
| A | Heavy anchor frames | Strong with peel; greedy alone |
| B | Hybrid experiment cores | Good after you own a comfort mid |
| C | Ultra niche / unfinished expansion shells | Play for fun or specific counters |
| Situational | Event or heavily altered patch frames | Recheck after Patch Notes |
Mid frames — S-tier philosophy
Mid-weight chassis win the BETA for most pilots because they:
- Keep enough AP to survive a misread
- Turn and boost well enough to practice real combat loops from Combat
- Pair with both control weapons and finishers
Play them when: you are new, duo queueing with randoms, or testing new weapons.
Avoid turning a mid into a fake heavy by stacking greedy energy guns and overweight arms until the garage screams.
Light frames — A-tier with caveats
Lights excel at:
- Flanking the backline of a 2v2
- Chasing low targets after a successful soften
- Resetting when a heavy commit fails
Lights fail when:
- You hold boost like a tourist
- You take center map ego duels vs anchors
- Your layout on mobile cannot track (Mobile tips)
Team tip: pair a light with a mid/heavy space creator, not another pure glass cannon, unless you have strong voice callouts (Players).
Heavy frames — A-tier anchors
Heavies threaten:
- Stagger batteries that open converts for partners
- Lane holds that deny easy shotgun entries
- Psychological pressure — enemies respect the brick
Heavies demand:
- Generator honesty
- A partner who peels
- Discipline not to take every 1v2 proudly
If you main heavy, your ranked notes should track peel response time as much as damage.
Legs, cores, and the hidden build
Frames are not only the chest. Legs change acceleration and stability; cores change energy personality. Practical advice:
- Upgrade legs when you “feel stuck” more than when you want raw AP.
- Match core energy to your weapon greed.
- After core expansions, test on a copy loadout — do not delete your ranked mid shell on day one of a patch (Updates).
How to climb a frame tier without lying to yourself
- Main mid until you can explain deaths in combat terms.
- Borrow light or heavy for a short block of matches.
- Keep notes: boost empty, turn fail, or bad job pick?
- Only then mark a frame role as “your” S-tier personally.
Personal S-tier can differ from wiki S-tier — that is fine if your results agree.
Mobile frame priorities
Touch pilots should bias mid, then carefully sample light. Heavy can work if you accept slower camera demands and lean on partner converts. Layout work remains mandatory (Controls).
Synergy with weapons
| Frame role | Natural weapons | Awkward pairings |
|---|---|---|
| Mid | Rifles, missiles, flexible shotguns | Quadruple niche tools |
| Light | Chip + burst, quick melee | Ultra-heavy energy greed |
| Heavy | Stagger tools, zone pressure | Pure sniper fantasy with no peel |
See Weapons for archetype tiers and shotgun balance caveats.
Fashion, colors, and callouts
Custom AC colors do not equal AP, but they help teammates shout “orange mid.” Paint intentionally for readability in chaotic 2v2s. Cosmetics after performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Armored Blox pilots.
What frame should beginners use?
A mid-weight all-rounder. It teaches boost and stagger without the extreme punishment of light or the slow lessons of heavy.
Are heavy frames bad in 2v2?
No. They are strong anchors when a partner peels and converts. They are bad when solo ego-challenging two lights.
Will this frame tier list change?
Yes. Armored Blox is in BETA with expansions and balance shifts. Recheck after patch notes and major content drops.
Do legs matter as much as the main frame?
Often yes. Legs change how boost and turns feel. Upgrade them when mobility — not just HP — is your bottleneck.
Should I copy AC6 frame names from Discord?
Use them as optional nicknames only. Always trust in-game weight and energy behavior over borrowed labels.
What if my favorite frame feels weak after a patch?
Run the Builds checklist, confirm generator and weapon synergy, then sample a mid comfort shell while the meta settles.
