Loadout Archetypes

This Loadouts page ranks archetype kits for Armored Blox, not a frozen part spreadsheet. The Roblox BETA by 48devs still ships balance swings and expansions, so we label confidence honestly and teach you how to adapt after November 2026 patches. Use this with Frames, Weapons, and Builds.

If you need a pre-queue ritual, open Loadout checklist and Weight budget.

BETA tier philosophy (read before the tables)

We do not pretend S-tier is eternal.

LabelMeaning
High confidenceStable job across recent patches; safe default
Medium confidenceStrong when played correctly; watch patch notes
Low confidence / volatileFlashy or recently tuned; keep a backup
Learning pickTeaches habits even if not peak power

Criteria:

  1. Does the kit create or cash a 2v2 window?
  2. What is the EN and weight tax on the rest of the AC?
  3. How forgiving is it for solo queue and mobile?
  4. How hot is it on social clips (nerf magnet risk)?
  5. Can a duo partner read the job in one sentence?

Part names will keep shifting. Think in jobs, then slot current garage pieces into the job.

Archetype 1 — Mid controller

Job: Soften, hold lanes, force boost waste, set converts for a partner.

Typical shape: Mid frame, rifle or flexible projectile primary, missile or secondary pressure, generator that still allows two escapes.

Confidence: High for climbing and random queues.

Why it ranks well: Controllers forgive imperfect teammates. You contribute even when the finisher whiffs once. See Duo Roles.

Build pitfalls:

  • Energy primary + greedy missiles with no kinetic backup
  • So much weight that boost feels like a heavy
  • Zero close answer when someone walks into your face

Play pattern: Chip → mark → hold or peel → let the finisher cash. Do not ego every kill.

Archetype 2 — Mid finisher

Job: Convert staggered or cornered targets. Be the threat that shapes enemy peels.

Typical shape: Mid (sometimes light-mid) frame, shotgun or hybrid close burst, enough mobility to arrive on time, clear exit plan after the swing.

Confidence: Medium — strong when approaches are clean; volatile when shotgun-family balance is in the news.

Why it ranks well: 2v2s still need someone who ends fights. Controllers alone can stall forever.

Build pitfalls:

  • Pure shotgun with empty boost after one whiff
  • Ignoring Combat soften-to-convert timing
  • Duoing with another pure finisher and no peel plan

Play pattern: Wait for the window → commit on call → peel if partner is dove and your chase is fake.

Archetype 3 — Light skirmisher

Job: Flank, punish overextends, gather info, force awkward turns.

Typical shape: Light or agile mid, high boost uptime, poke tools that do not require full commit every time.

Confidence: Medium for coordinated duos; lower for silent randoms unless you self-peel hard.

Why it ranks well: Skirmishers create angles anchors cannot. They punish greedy shotgun walks.

Build pitfalls:

  • Glass cannon with no reset discipline
  • Perma-flank that never rejoins the pair
  • Overweight “light” that is light only in name — fix with Weight budget

Play pattern: Scout mark → poke → rejoin → convert only on real windows. Read Callouts so your info arrives early.

Archetype 4 — Heavy anchor

Job: Hold space, absorb first swing, make ignores expensive.

Typical shape: Heavier frame, patient mid-range pressure, AP to survive a dive, boost reserved for reposition — not endless chase.

Confidence: Medium-high when your partner understands peel and you refuse to abandon your lane for free.

Why it ranks well: Anchors win maps that punish double glass. They give finishers a pocket.

Build pitfalls:

  • Zero mobility “statue” builds that die to missiles and kites
  • Chasing lights across the entire arena
  • Generator that cannot support a defensive boost after a trade

Play pattern: Own a landmark → force them to come through your pressure → call peel when dove → let scout/finisher punish the rotate.

How to adapt after November 2026 patches

When a patch lands (including the 2026-11-08 update window and later hotfixes):

  1. Identify the job hit — was your convert tool nerfed, or your mobility?
  2. Keep the role, swap the tool — a finisher can move from shotgun to hybrid rifle+melee without abandoning the job.
  3. Re-run weight and EN — expansions love to sneak overload warnings back in.
  4. Test one archetype copy — do not delete your comfort controller kit on day one.
  5. Sync the duo sentence — “I still control; you still finish” prevents panic respecs (Ranked).

If social clips scream a new expansion toy is broken, label it low confidence until you personally verified two sessions.

Building the archetype in the garage

Checklist shared by all four:

  • One pressure tool and one convert tool across the pair, not necessarily on one AC
  • Boost headroom for peel
  • Readable colors for marks
  • Mobile layout check if you touch play (Mobile tips)
  • No scripted “auto optimal” downloads — see Scripts

Climbing advice without S-tier obsession

New pilots: start mid controller, then add a finisher secondary. Intermediate: master peel rules before light skirmisher mains. Duos: lock two complementary archetypes for a week, then review losses as role failures vs kit failures.

A B-tier controller with clean Callouts beats an S-tier finisher who never peels.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Armored Blox pilots.

What is the safest loadout archetype in Armored Blox BETA?

Mid controller. It climbs well with randoms, teaches lane pressure, and stays useful when shotgun-family balance shifts.

Are these loadout tiers final?

No. Labels are confidence-based for a living BETA. Recheck Frames, Weapons, and Patch Notes after updates.

Should I main light skirmisher in solo queue?

Only if you self-peel and reset well. Silent randoms punish pure flank egos — controller or hybrid mid is safer.

How do I adapt a nerfed shotgun finisher?

Keep the finisher job, swap the convert tool to a hybrid close answer or rifle+melee plan, and retest EN and approach routes.

Do heavy anchors need zero mobility?

No. Anchors hold space but still need reposition boost. Statue builds get kited and missiled for free.

Where should I validate a new expansion part?

On a copy loadout in low-stakes matches after a weight and EN pass. Do not delete your comfort archetype on day one.
